What do we expect from our future?
Where are we heading?
Can we still be optimistic about what’s to come?

Yes, and so we should, since a vital and resilient society needs positive visions of the future. However, it somehow seems difficult to agree on a shared idea that everyone could rally around. Therefore, maybe we need to pursue a strategy of many small steps.

This is where the installation “wishing well” by students of the MA Identity Design study programme at Technische Hochschule Augsburg comes into play. The transparent mcbw pop-up container at the Viktualienmarkt has been transformed into a collection point for our individual hopes, wishes and future aspirations.

The main central feature of the installation is an interactive “wishing well”. Passers-by are invited to imagine a positive aspect for the future whilst throwing a coin into the shaft. These aspirations will then be “stored” as abstract representations.

Over time these will fill the well and the container’s ceiling. They are an encouragement to stay optimistic when it comes to our shared future.

So, what future do you wish for?

The students of the only MA programme dedicated to the design and communication of collective identity look forward to your visit.

Vernissage on May 10, 2025 at 11 am.

We would like to thank “Der Pschorr” for the location and their kind support.
